Example global event

Global triggers

Events near the CLF resulting in a TA Level 2 trigger while also coinciding with Auger stations.

Files with .CTAG extension (CLF TA Global) contain TA time stamps and coincident Auger time stamps. There are three relevant entries in these files: the first five columns are the TA Level 2 time stamps (UTC). The next column is the Auger south T2 time stamp coincident within 200 microseconds. The last column is the time difference between the Auger south T2 and TA level 2 time stamp. If the file is blank there were no coincident global events that day.

Directories labeled by date (UTC time) contain subdirectories with all events for that day. Subdirectory names use an arbitrary event ID, followed by an underscore, followed by the GPS second in which the event occurred. Each subdirectory has the raw Auger FADC traces and calibration data, along with some plots.

Each directory holds a days worth of data (UTC time). Directory names are YYYYMMDD. Events for the day are labeled with a counter from 0 to N, where N is the total number of events. Lower numbers refer to earlier events. Text files have FADC data and timing information and .png files show the trace. A file "signals.txt" is a collection of the daily events. The colums are: ID GPSTIME SIGNAL(VEM).

Local triggers

Events directly on the CLF resulting in a coincidence between the Auger external trigger (modified TA SD) and Auger SD stations.

Files with .CTAL extension (CLF TA Local) contain coincident external trigger and Auger time stamps. There are three relevant entries in these files: the first column is the external trigger time stamp, the second column is the Auger south T2 timestamp, and the third column is the time difference between column 1 and 2. Data is organized in the same way as global events: a daily data folder with format YYYY_MM_DD contains subdirectories for each event during that day (UTC time). Each subdirectory has the raw Auger FADC traces and calibration data, along with some plots.
